PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing paper having excellent printability in spite of light weight and bulky texture and generating little paper powder. SOLUTION: The bulky printing paper is produced by using a waste paper pulp as a main material and has a basis weight of 40-100 g/m<SP>2</SP>measured in conformity to JIS P 8124(1998), a defibrated pulp freeness of≥450 cc measured in conformity to JIS P 8121(1995) on a printing paper defibrated in conformity to JIS P 8220(1998), a pulp fiber roughness of the raw pulp after defibration of 10-25 mg/100 m, a mechanical pulp ratio of≥60 mass% measured by dyeing method in conformity to JIS P 8120(1998), and a density of 0.20-0.30 g/cm<SP>3</SP>measured in conformity to JIS P 8118(1998).
