PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely smoothly lubricate bearings of each return roller of a belt conveyor. SOLUTION: This roller for the belt conveyor comprises the return rollers 5 dividedly arranged on right and left sides and a flexible tube 7 having both ends airtightly connected to inner ends of return roller support shafts 6 of the both return rollers 5. A passage 8 communicated between both end faces of the return roller support shaft 6 is formed, and distribution passages 10 communicated with the passage 8 and used for lubrication of the bearings 9 of the return roller support shaft 6 incorporated into both ends of the return roller 5 are provided.
