<p>[PROBLEMS] To provide a semiconductor integrated circuit device having a function to change an operating frequency or operating voltage, and a function to cut off and separate power supply for an internal circuit, wherein between the DVFS method and the PG method, either one of these consumption current reduction methods which is more advantageous over the other is performed. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A semiconductor integrated circuit device is provided, which has a device characteristic detection circuit, a calculation circuit which, corresponding to a device characteristic, calculates an energy consumption in performing a power gating operation, and an energy consumption in performing a voltage and frequency reduction operation while a task to be performed by the internal circuit is being executed, and a switching circuit for activating a circuit which performs the operation with a smaller energy consumption for the internal circuit.</p> |
