The opto-electronic element (1), has a semiconductor body, which has a semiconductor layer sequence (3). The semiconductor layer sequence has two main surfaces (4,5), which are opposite to each other and are provided at its surface. A carrier (2) is arranged on a side of the semiconductor body, where the side faces the semiconductor layer sequence. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an arrangement of an opto-electronic element; and (2) a method for manufacturing an opto-electronic element.
