<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a promoter for inducing differentiation of cardiomyocyte and a method for using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The promoter for inducing differentiation of cardiomyocyte comprises an angiotensin II receptor antagonist as an active ingredient and promotes differentiation induction of a mesenchymal stem cell to a cardiomyocyte. The method for promoting differentiation induction of cardiomyocyte comprises culturing a mesenchymal stem cell in the presence of an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. The method for differentiation induction for inducing differentiation of a mesenchymal stem cell to a cardiomyocyte comprises a process for treating a mesenchymal stem cell with an angiotensin II receptor antagonist and a process for culturing the mesenchymal stem cell treated with an angiotensin II receptor antagonist on a feeder cell. Telmisartan, valsartan etc., may be cited as an angiotensin II receptor antagonist.
