PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrostatic latent image development, which can effectively preventing streaky density unevenness from occurring. SOLUTION: The carrier for electrostatic latent image development has a projected portion on at least the surface thereof, wherein the projected portion has a length to width ratio of≥2.5 times, and preferably the projected portion has a height of 5-25μm and a length of 5-35μm. An electrostatic latent image developer including the carrier ensures less bulk density change even under environmental variation, has high toner concentration control property and stably forms an image excellent in gradation.
