PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method adopting a light-pressure fixing system which has a pair of belt structures consisting of a fixing belt and a pressure belt, the method being excellent in low-temperature fixability, hot offset property, and separation property and providing high-quality image when the process speed is increased. SOLUTION: The image forming method includes a step of charging an image carrier, a latent image forming step of forming an electrostatic latent image on the charged image carrier, a development step of developing the electrostatic latent image with toner and form a toner image, a transfer step of transferring the toner image to a transfer material through an intermediate transfer member or without it, and a fixing step of fixing the toner image on the transfer material with a heating/pressurizing/fixing means. The toner has toner particles containing a binder resin and a coloring agent at least. The toner is Soxlet-extracted using tetrahydrofuran (THF). Where the THF insoluble matter of the toner extracted for two hours is A (mass%), the THT insoluble matter of the toner extracted for eight hours is B (mass%) and the THF insoluble matter of the toner extracted for sixteen hours is C (mass%), ¾(100-A)¾/2>¾(A-B)/6¾>¾(B-C)/8¾, 15.0≤A≤75.0, and 1.0≤C≤40.0 are satisfied. The heating/pressurizing/fixing means is a fixing machine having a pair of belt structures consisting of the fixing belt and the pressure belt.
