PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein chitosan does not exhibit effects in a wide range because the range of bacteria to which antimicrobial activities are given is narrow although being safe, is normally solid and only dissolved in an acid when being used in a liquid shape because it is preferable to be the liquid state in the use for a fiber for the purpose of an antimicrobial agent, has a risk on the safety aspect to a human body and cannot be used directly to the fiber, and meanwhile, Ag ion is not fixed simply when the Ag ion is directly added to the fiber for the purpose of the expansion of the antimicrobial range, and causes the discoloration of the fiber. SOLUTION: The antimicrobial agent includes chitosan, a fatty acid and silver, and obtained by fixing the fatty acid and silver to the chitosan by a chemical reaction so that it is safe to human body.
