PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article with excellent absorbency and leakage preventive capability. SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 comprises a liquid-permeable front surface sheet 2, a rear surface sheet 3 and an absorber 4 disposed between the sheets, and is substantially formed vertically long. The front surface sheet 2 has a number of projections 21 which are formed long in the vertical direction in a center area 2c located at the center in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article 1, and a number of projections 22 which are formed long in the cross direction of the absorbent article in end areas 2a and 2b located in the front and rear of the center area 2c. A number of the projections 21 and 22 in the center area 2c and end areas 2a and 2b are disposed in such a state as dispersed in the longitudinal direction and in the cross direction of the absorbent article 1.
