AUTO GAIN CONTROL AMPLIFIER AND SOUND RECORDING APPARATUS INCLUDING THE SAME

An auto gain control amplifier and a sound recording apparatus having the same are provided to prevent generation a pop noise accompanied by a gain change by changing a gain of a variable gain amplification unit in an amplitude state of an output signal less than a reference value. A microphone(MC) converts a sound(10) into a sound signal(IN). A programmable gain amp(PGA) comprising a variable gain amplification unit outputs an output sound signal(OUT) by amplifying the sound signal. An analog to digital converter(ADC) converts the output sound signal into a digital sound signal(D-OUT). An auto gain control unit monitors amplitude of the digital sound signal. A proper gain of the variable gain amplification unit is set by calculating an auto gain control unit proper gain(GA). The analog to digital converter converts an analog output sound signal into a digital sound signal. The digital sound signal is recorded to a memory unit(MEM).
