PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recommend content in consideration of expression during viewing.

SOLUTION: During playback of a content, expressions exhibited by a user viewing the content are detected by a client 1. The expressions include a facial expression such as a laughing face and frowning, and utterance such as soliloquy and dialogue. Time series data of detected expressions is transmitted from the client 1 to a server 2 connected thereto via a network. In the server 2, a group of users is identified who have exhibited the same expression during playback of content, and to a user of the client 1 which receives recommendation, content is recommended which is given high marks from other users belonging to the same group as the user of the client 1. The present invention is applicable to a personal computer.
