PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use power generated by a generator 20.

SOLUTION: This control method for a hybrid vehicle having a first power supply path converting primary current Gi generated by the generator 20 and outputting it to a motor 25, and a second power supply path directly connecting the generator 20 to the motor 25, has: a driving state decision step (step S10) for deciding a driving state of the vehicle; a primary current decision step (step S20) for deciding at least a phase of the primary current Gi generated by the generator 20; a drive current decision step (step S21) for deciding at least a phase of drive current Di to be supplied to the motor 25 based on the driving state decision step (step S20); and power supply steps (steps S24-S27) for supplying at least a part of the primary current Gi to the motor 25 from the generator 20 through the second power supply path (40) when the phases of the primary current Gi and the drive current Di are equal.
