<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-diffusing film with high practicality, having good passing property of the film in a heat treatment step in a post process, over the whole length of the roll regardless of conditions of the post process. <P>SOLUTION: The light-diffusing film has a Δn<SB>ab</SB>(relating to the refractive index) of from 0.015 to 0.060, and is characterized in that (1) the film has a light-diffusing layer containing a light-diffusing component inside; (2) the light-diffusing layer comprises at least a thermoplastic resin and fine particles as a light-diffusing component; (3) the fine particles have an average shape difference of not less than 1.2; and moreover, heat shrinkage percentages HS150 close to both ends in the width direction of the film range from 0.2% to less than 0.7%, with the difference in the HS150 between close to both ends being not more than 0.1%; and heat shrinkage percentages HS180 close to both ends in the width direction of the film range from 0.9% to less than 1.7%, with the difference in the HS180 between close to both ends being not more than 0.15%.
