<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate achieving satisfactory durability and uniformity (evenness) in display. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate includes transparent protective films sticked on both faces of a polyvinyl alcohol polarizer through an adhesive layer, respectively. The transparent protective film on one face includes (meth)acrylic resin containing glutarimide unit and (meth)acrylic acid ester unit, its inplane phase difference is less than 40 nm, and its phase difference in the direction of thickness is less than 80 nm. The transparent protective film on the other face contains cellulose ester. A phase difference plate satisfies the following relationship: nx>ny>nz (wherein, the direction in which inplane refractive index becomes the maximum is X-axis, the direction being vertical to the X-axis is Y-axis, the direction of thickness is Z-axis, and refractive indexes in respective axial directions are nx, ny, and nz). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
