<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light-diffusing polyester film exhibiting excellent display characteristics in combination with a liquid crystal panel. <P>SOLUTION: The light-diffusing polyester film comprises a biaxially oriented polyester film, which is characterized in that: (1) the film has a support layer comprising a crystalline homopolyester or a crystalline polyester containing a copolymer component, and a light-diffusing layer layered on at least one surface of the support layer by a co-extrusion method, the light-diffusing layer comprising a blended composition of 50 to 99 parts by mass of a crystalline polyester containing a copolymer component having a melting point of 235 to 255°C, and 1 to 50 parts by mass of an additive incompatible with the above polyester; (2) the film has a plane orientation coefficient ΔP of 0.08 to 0.16; (3) the film has a surface haze of ≥15%; (4) the film has an internal haze less than the surface haze; (5) the film has a dimensional change rate at 150°C of ≥3% and tensile strength of not less than 100 MPa; and (6) the film has diffusivity of ≥30% and <50%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
