<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to promptly and accurately input with a displayed input key, even when a screen is small like a display device which is mounted on a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A display input device in which an input operation is performed by indicating an input key displayed on the screen is installed. By speech recognition of speech which is input to a microphone, a plurality of candidates (hereinafter called as recognition candidates) of a result of the speech recognition are specified. Then, the magnification rate of a character key 21 (hereinafter called as a recognition candidate key) corresponding to the recognition candidate is determined so that the magnification rate can be higher, as likelihood of the speech recognition is higher. The layout of a name input screen 20 of the display input device after the recognition candidate key is magnified is determined. Arrangement of character keys 21 is determined so that, for example, a distance D1 between character keys 21 can be a predetermined value or more. Then, the name input screen 20 is displayed in a display input device so as to become the determined layout.
