<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately regenerate a diesel particulate filter (DPF) by preventing the actual excessive accumulation of particulate matters (PM) when a PM accumulation estimate value reaches a limit value in the case of regenerating the DPF by calculating the PM accumulation estimate value. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 4 calculates the accumulation estimate value M of the PM accumulated in the filter 32 of a DPF device 34 based on the actual rotational speed of an engine 1, a command value to an electronic governor, and exhaust gas temperature, and starts normal combustion control if the PM accumulation estimate value is an accumulation limit value MO or more. When the PM accumulation estimate value M is smaller than the accumulation limit value MO, the controller reads a differential pressureΔP between the front and rear of the filter 32. When the differential pressure therebetween becomes a differential pressure limit valueΔPO or more, the controller calculates a differenceΔM between the accumulation limit value MO and the PM accumulation limit value M.
