PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is difficult to improve acceleration of change from a splay alignment state to a bend alignment state. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device has a pair of mutually opposite substrates, liquid crystal 19 interposed between the pair of substrates, a gate line 93 provided on one of the pair of substrates on the side of the liquid crystal 19, a gate insulating film 55 provided to the gate line 93 on the side of the liquid crystal 19, and a source line 95 provided to the gate insulating film 55 on the side of the liquid crystal 19 to cross the gate line 93, and is characterized in that the source line 95 is provided with a notched portion or opening portion 99 to overlap with the gate line 93 corresponding to the intersection with the gate line 93 and the gate insulating film 55 has at least a part of a region, overlapping with the notched portion or opening portion 99, removed.
