PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of sufficiently suppressing a decrease in processing efficiency of whole jobs, caused by switching of image formation materials used for image formation. SOLUTION: The multi-functional machine 1 stores image formation jobs input successively into a storage part 12 and assigns execution order to the jobs. Before the execution of each of the image formation jobs, the multi-functional machine 1 specifies a toner type switchable according to whether printing is color or monochrome, and determines whether switching of the toner type in relation to a job being executed is required or not. Then, the machine 1 switches the execution order so that a job that does not require toner type switching is given priority over the others and executed. Subsequently, following the execution order, the machine 1 executes the image formation jobs stored in the storage part 12, and performs image formation on paper with toner of the type corresponding to the color or monochrome printing.
