PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method preventing the transferability of toner from getting worse, to form stably an image over a long period, and exhibiting excellent cleanability without abrading a photoreceptor surface layer and a cleaning blade. SOLUTION: The image forming method uses the toner containing inorganic fine particles having a number-averaged primary particle size of 0.01-1.00μm on the surface layer, and containing an organic photoreceptor and a fatty acid metal salt of bringing an average distance of the inorganic fine particles exposed to the surface layer into a volume-based median diameter of the toner or less.
