The system has a safety belt (B) e.g. two or three-point safety belts, for supporting a passenger of a vehicle e.g. automobile. A sensor (SENS) e.g. pressure-sensitive sensor, is connected with the safety belt for detecting a life function of the passenger. The sensor is attached on the surface of the safety belt and integrated into the safety belt. The sensor is extended over a certain longitudinal section of the safety belt. The sensor is provided in a region of the safety belt and provided on the thorax of the passenger with the fastened safety belt.
