<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective layer formation method which enables forming of a protective layer leaving no margin at all on the entire surface of an object for an image to be transferred to. <P>SOLUTION: First, a presensing mark region is arranged on at least, a part of a heat transferable protective layer of a heat transfer sheet, and then a patch part as a part of the heat transfer sheet to be transferred to the object for a patch part to be transferred to and at least, a part of the presensing mark region, are half cut simultaneously. After that, the heat transfer sheet is cut up to the heat transferable protective layer including an adhesive layer, and then the heat transferable protective layer excepting the patch part and at least, a part of the presensing mark region, which are half-cut, is released from a resin layer of a sheet base material. Further, the protective layer is removed from the heat transfer sheet, leaving the patch part as it is, in the heat transfer sheet and a detection mark is formed and allowed to be detected, when the side of the heat transferable protective layer of the heat transfer sheet is superposed on the object for the patch part to be transferred to and the heat transfer of the protective layer is carried out. Thus, the register of the positions for the patch part and the object is performed, and the patch part is transferred to the object to form the heat transferable protective layer on the surface of the object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
