A system for delivering solid ink through a feed channel having non-linear sections is provided to simplify the transfer of solid ink via a flow channel of a solid ink printer to a dissolution unit by a powered carrying drive. A system for delivering solid ink through a feed channel having non-linear sections includes a flow channel, a powered carrying drive positioned at least at a side of the flow channel, and a soluble ink element having a driving coupler(14) which is offset from the surface of the soluble ink element. The driving coupler has an opening complementary to the powered carrying drive for forcedly moving the driving coupler through the flow channel by the carrying drive.
