PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component measuring instrument allowing an electronic component to be accurately positioned to a measuring means and a contact pressure to be ensured even where the electronic component is disengaged from a holding mechanism because of prolonged measurement time; its control method, and a control program. SOLUTION: A suction nozzle 11a holding an electronic component S descends and the electronic component S is positioned at a hold part 5 of this instrument 1 to transfer the electronic component S. In parallel therewith, a control part of this device 1 causes a drive part 4 to drive a contact 2 and a body support part 3 so that they make contact with a lead part S' and a body part S'' of the electronic component S from their upper sides, respectively. This causes electric characteristic inspection to get started which is process transaction for this instrument 1. Further, the suction nozzle 11a disengages the electronic component S and ascends, when its suction is broken, and passes over the electronic component S held by the contact 2 in course of the characteristic inspection, by intermittently conveying another holding mechanism 11 by using a conveying mechanism 12, the holding mechanism 11 having been intermittently conveyed to a second process transaction device.
