PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in measuring air-borne microorganisms according to the ATP method, such as a complicated recovery procedure and a low recovery rate for recovering living microorganisms from a capturing carrier. SOLUTION: By using a temperature sensitive resin having a phase transition temperature of 40°C or lower as the capturing carrier and by controlling the temperature when capturing microorganisms and when recovering the microorganisms, the capturing carrier is changed to a gel phase and a sol phase, respectively. The change of shape of the capturing carrier when capturing the microorganisms is less and the capturing efficiency is high, and when recovering the microorganisms, the microorganisms are treated as a suspension making the post processing such as filtration and concentration simplified. The capturing carrier achieves both efficient capturing and simplified processing by combining the non-contact and simple process such as the mild temperature control. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
