PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger reducible in size and weight. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger 100 includes vortex-shaped heat transfer pipes 3-5; and plates 7, 8 clamping the heat transfer pipes 3-5. Each end 21 of the heat transfer pipes 3-5 is located at the center of the vortex, and the other end 20 thereof is located at the outer peripheral side of a vortex. A gap 12 is formed between the upstream and the downstream of the heat transfer pipes 3-5 adjacent to each other with respect to the direction from the center of the vortex to the outer periphery. The gap 12 functions as a passage 12 for a second fluid subjected to heat exchange with a first fluid circulated through interiors of the heat transfer pipes 3-5. The plates 7, 8 clamp the heat transfer pipes 3-5 extending between the upstream and the downstream so that the heat transfer pipes 3-5 and the passage 12 alternately appear with respect to a direction directing to the outer periphery from the center of the vortex.
