PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select the depth of a measuring target related to detection by controlling the effect of a standing wave produced by the reflection from the surface of the measuring target. SOLUTION: In a component concentration measuring instrument using an optoacoustic method for applying measuring synthetic light to the surface 162 of a living body to detect an optoacoustic signal, the intensity of light is modulated on the basis of modulation frequency wherein the depth (d) of a sonic wave producing source becomes the loop of the standing wave of a sonic wave.
