The invention relates to an urban public transportation system that comprises a fleet of vehicles (1) provided with positioning means (2) of the GPS type (Global Positioning System) capable of detecting a travel-start location and a travel-end location. Each vehicle includes a reading means (3) for interacting with and reading a storage means (4) adapted for storing at least one travel identifier, wherein said system includes processing means (7) capable of comparing said travel-start and travel-end locations with the travel identifier, and of deriving a payment option therefrom. |
