PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform addition printing to a position which can be checked even in the state that a sheet of paper is folded without making a user aware thereof. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is equipped with: an addition printing designating means 92 which designates addition printing and a position; a means 146 which synthesizes addition printing to a printing image; image forming means 101-123 which form a synthesized image on the paper; means 131-133 which send the paper to the image forming means; conveying means 135-137 which send out the paper formed with the image to a sheet folding device 1; and image correcting means 154 and 146 which correct the synthesized image so that addition printing is located on the outside side surface if addition printing comes to be located by sheet folding on an inside side surface of folding. Correction of the synthesized image includes image rotation of 180 degrees centering on an axis perpendicular to an image surface, and a position change to the outside side surface of folding of addition printing. The image correcting means change the position of addition printing to a position which appears on the inside side surface of folding when addition printing comes to be located on the inside side surface of folding even by image rotation.
