PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption when warming-up in an image forming apparatus equipped with a fixing device where a main heater having a heat source for making a center part of a roller a first heating area and a sub heater having a heat source for making both ends of the roller a second heating area are arranged in parallel in a shaft direction of a heating roller in the heating roller. SOLUTION: When requiring to print a sheet whose size is A4 size or under that a sheet passing area in a nip part formed between the heating roller and a pressure roller is smaller than the first heating area, energizing control is performed only to the main heater, and printing processing is performed when the surface temperature of the center part of the heating roller being the first heating area reaches fixing set temperature.
