PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control wide space with unitary processing in which individual control setting is not required for each speaker, while correcting both frequency distortion and time distortion resulting from a playback sound field. SOLUTION: A power envelope of an observation signal observed in the playback field, when a sound source signal X(z) of a previous stage in which sound is output in a playback sound field is observed, is described by convolution calculation of the power envelope of the sound source signal X(z) and the power envelope of a space transform function H<SB>real</SB>(z) of the playback field. A sound playback device 10 includes a power envelope reverse filtering processing section 15 for performing reverse filtering processing by the power envelope of the space transform function H<SB>real</SB>(z) in a power envelope region, on the power envelope of the sound signal X(z), on the basis of the envelope of the sound source signal X(z) and an approximated envelope in which the envelope of the space transform function H<SB>real</SB>(z) is made into a minimum phase.
