PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording member conveying mechanism capable of improving the degree of layout freedom of a counter roller 19 while avoiding the occurrence of a jam caused by tilting the counter roller 19 swingable with a swing body 62, with respect to a secondary transfer roller 12 and the fluctuation of pressure applied to a recording paper between both rollers. SOLUTION: A side plate 16 supporting the secondary transfer roller 12 rotatably includes a slit 16a, and a positioned ring fixed to a rotating shaft member of the counter roller 19 is allowed to enter the slit 16a from a slit cutout part following the movement of the swing body 62 around a second swing shaft toward a closing position with respect to a case. While moving the counter roller 19 in a direction different from an biasing direction by an biasing coil spring 68, the positioned ring is moved in a slit extending direction within the slit 16a to abut on a positioning surface on one end side in the slit 16a.
