PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjusting device capable of preventing a working fluid from being leaked from a step between a vane rotor and a seal member in a rotor shaft direction. SOLUTION: This valve timing adjusting device comprises a seal member 57 provided in a gap between a housing 11 and a vane rotor 15 facing each other in a radial direction, preventing the working fluid from being leaked from a working-pressure chamber, and fitting a first seal member 58 and a second member 59 with each other, and an elastic body energizing the seal member 57 in the radial direction and an axial direction. The seal member 57 can eliminate a difference in an axial direction between the vane rotor 15 and the seal member 57 by being energized in the axial direction by the elastic body. Also, the seal member 57 is energized in a circumferential direction by the elastic body, and therefore, it has a sealing property with the vane rotor 15. This can prevent the working fluid from being leaked to a different working fluid chamber so as to adjust a phase difference of a camshaft 16. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
