METHOD FOR SILYLATING AMINO GROUP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which is suitably used for efficiently producing a compound which contains an amino group protected with a silyl group, and is useful as a synthetic intermediate for medicines and agrochemicals, a coating additive, and a polymer modifying agent. SOLUTION: This method for silylating the amino group includes using a sulfonic acid compound or a salt thereof as a catalyst in the method for silylating the amino group of an amino group-containing compound represented by general formula (1): R1R2NH (wherein, R1and R2are each a hydrogen atom, or a 1-20C substituted or a 1-20C un-substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, or R1and R2may mutually be bound and may form a 2-20C ring together with the nitrogen atom to which R1and R2are bound) with a chlorosilane compound represented by general formula (2): R3R4R5SiCl (wherein, R3, R4, and R5are each a hydrogen atom, a chlorine atom, or a 1-20C substituted or a 1-20C un-substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group; and R3and R4, R3and R5, or R4and R5may mutually be bound to form a 2-20C ring together with the silicon atom to which they are bound).
