The invention relates to a method for adapting an output characteristic of a sensor that detects a movement of a measured object and converts it to an output signal, the output characteristic being the result of the movement of the measured object. The method according to the invention is characterized by adapting the output characteristic of the sensor to the movement of the measured object in such a manner that a defined resolution is adjusted in the range of movement requiring a lower resolution, and that a higher resolution of the output characteristic is adjusted than in the defined resolution range in the range of movement requiring a higher resolution than in the other range of movement. |
