An automatic channel tuning method and a broadcasting receiver applying the same are provided, which remove the discomfort that a user passively has to establish the order of channel. An automatic channel tuning method of the broadcasting receiver providing the received broadcast for a user is as follows. The channel list used for the channel order establishment is stored(S230). The channel list arranges channels according to the set standard. The channel information about channel is collected in the channel list. Channels are searched(S240).
