<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system with a reforming unit capable of forming hydrogen gas by using various kinds of raw materials. <P>SOLUTION: A CO selective oxidation cooling pipe 834, through which pure water heating by heat exchange with a CO selective oxidation catalyst can pass, is installed in a CO selective oxidation vessel 831 being filled with a CO selective oxidation catalyst in such a manner that the cooling pipe 834 penetrates the vessel 831. An inert filler, such as alumina particles, is filled in the CO selective oxidation vessel 831 corresponding to the upstream side of the CO selective oxidation vessel 831. Thereby, even when dew condensation occurs, for example, when the system is started, deactivation of the CO selective oxidation catalyst caused by sticking of water formed by the dew condensation can be prevented, CO can be removed efficiently by the CO selective oxidation catalyst, and hydrogen gas can be formed stably and satisfactorily for a long period of time because the range where dew condensation occurs is an area where the inert filler is filled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
