PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of properly setting an image formation speed depending on the situation. SOLUTION: The digital complex machine determines whether the timing of paper feeding has delay to the prescribed timing or not (S12). When a delay is detected, the image formation speed is delayed by an image formation part (S13, S14). Then, it is determined that whether the number of sheets having delay to the timing of the paper feeding is exceeding the prescribed threshold value or not (S16), depending on the result of the determination, the delayed imaging speed is returned to the original (S17) according to the determination results.
