The method involves utilizing a data flow from an ultra wide band (UWB) transmission unit (M) for transmission of utilizable data e.g. digitized audio data and identification data, and for spatial positioning of the respective UWB transmission unit and an audio source. The transmission of the identification data and digitized audio data of the audio source takes place through pulse position modulation. Running times (T01-T04, TU1-TU4) of the signals of the respective UWB transmission unit are used for determining a spatial position of the UWB transmission unit. An independent claim is also included for a system for generation and wireless transmission of audio signals and automation data for surround panning and stage automation.
