The arrangement has an axial actuatable sliding sleeve (3) with inner teeth (4) engaged as an engaging tooth system with outher teeth (5) of a housing-sided clutch body (1) for switching a range change gearbox into a slower transmission mode, during an engaging operation. A housing-sided projection i.e. tooth (7), is axially aligned such that a pre-determined angular momentum is applied on the sliding sleeve, when a threatening tooth is in a tooth position of the engaging tooth system, before beginning of the engaging operation.
