The head of the tool (34) has an initial form with a first external diameter (b). It is pressed together into an intermediate form, in the radial direction. In this form the head is resiliently deformed and has a second, smaller external diameter (c). The head is pressed still further in the radial direction, into a final form with an even smaller external diameter (d). The head is so constructed that it is held in the final form. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding fastening method.
