<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand surplus areas (user data areas) on a NAND memory, which stores a communication program required for dual-band communication, by reducing a data amount of the relevant communication program. <P>SOLUTION: A NAND memory stores a CDMA communication program, first differential data for converting the CDMA communication program into a GSM communication program, second differential data for converting the GSM communication program into the CDMA communication program, and a software update engine for performing inter-conversion between the respective communication programs. The first differential data are then used to convert the CDMA communication program into the GSM communication program, the second differential data are used to convert the GSM communication program into the CDMA communication program, so as to use the programs for respective communications. The data amount of communication programs to be stored in the NAND memory can be remarkably reduced, so that user data areas can be expanded by the reduced data amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
