PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent embedded digital watermarking data from being lost in the imaging processing thereof and the like. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes an image-taking part 14, a detecting part 97, a watermark information embedding part 94 and a controller 50. The image-taking part photoelectrically converts an imaging target and generates an image signal. The detecting part detects a correction region having a possibility to be corrected as a region where the shadow of a foreign object could be reflected among image signals generated by the image-taking part, through post-image processing. The water-mark information embedding part embeds digital watermark information in the image signals. The controller controls the water-mark information embedding part so that the digital water-mark information is embedded in the image signals by removing the correction region detected by the detection part from the region targeted for the digital water-mark information.
