PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the intensity of the light emitted from a light emitting means even if the light emitting means vibrates because the intensity of sonic waves generated in a measured object depends also on the intensity of the light to be applied to the measured object though the concentration of a target component is measured based on the intensity of sonic waves generated in the measured object, and the concentration of the target component can not be accurately measured if the intensity of the light applied to the measured object varies. SOLUTION: The component concentration measuring apparatus 235 related to this invention is characterized by an unnecessary mode eliminating means 237 for eliminating an unnecessary mode of an optical fiber 236 for guiding light to an irradiation head 112. By eliminating the unnecessary mode of the optical fiber 236, the intensity of the light emitted from the irradiation head 112 can be stabilized even if the bending state of the optical fiber 236 varies.
