The device has a motor unit comprising an internal combustion engine unit (10) and another motor unit comprising an electric motor unit (11), and a third motor unit i.e. stirling engine unit (16), connected with the motor units. The three motor units are mechanically coupled with one another by a rotatable, continuous or divided axle or a continuous or divided shaft. The latter motor unit is integrated in an electric variable transmission (EVT). A cooling circuit (13) consists of two sections (14, 15) with temperatures, where one of the temperatures is smaller than the other temperature. An independent claim is also included for a method for driving a system with the help of a drive device.
