A method for preparing carbonaceous materials from tar sludge is provided to neutralize acidified soil within a short time, and to obtain continued soil improvement effects by securing air and water permeability and adhesion of microorganisms. A method for preparing carbonaceous materials from tar sludge comprises the steps of: mixing furnace slag 10-50 weight%, clay 30-50 weight%, and tar sludge carbide 20-40 weight%; molding the mixture to 1mm ~ 2mm size; and sintering the molded material in an inert gas atmosphere. The tar sludge carbide is obtained by heating tar sludge at 400°C ~ 600°C for 1 ~ 2 hours in an inert gas atmosphere.
