PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for confirming contact with shoulders at the time of panoramic X-ray photography appropriately configured to prevent failure in the X-ray photography caused by the contact with shoulders and to prevent unnecessary exposure to X-rays in the photography. SOLUTION: A camera is set as a shoulder contact detection means in a position where the image of a patient up to the shoulders is captured in panoramic X-ray equipment, and a contact sensor or approach sensor is set in an X-ray image capturing part of a rotary arm to detect the contact with the shoulders of the patient.
