A method and a system for providing an additional service by a transparent layer corresponding to a moving picture are provided to supply various additional services due to a moving picture by using a transparent layer matched with a moving picture reproduced in a mobile terminal or a personal computer. A layer database(170) stores a plurality of layer data reproduced on a moving picture. A layer service server calls and provides layer data corresponding to input moving picture information from the layer database. An additional service server provides an additional service according to an additional service providing request about contents included in the layer data. A moving picture service server(140) provides moving picture data stored in a moving picture database to a personal computer or a mobile terminal through an internet network.
