<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver and a channel selection method for the digital broadcast receiver whereby a user can quickly carry out an intended channel selection instruction. <P>SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver 1 comprises a digital broadcast receiving unit 2 and a remote controller 4. The digital broadcast receiving unit 2 is provided with a digital television broadcast tuner section 20, a channel selection discrimination section 21, and a channel selection storage section 22. In the case that channel selection carried out at a next channel selection instruction is a sequential channel selection instruction directly made from the remote controller 4 and information for the precedent channel selection instruction obtained from the storage by the channel selection storage section 22 indicates a channel selection instruction carried out inside the contents of data broadcast programs, the channel selection discrimination section 21 provides a station selection instruction to the digital television broadcast tuner section 20 by using a channel before the execution of the channel selection from the inside of the contents of the data broadcast programs for a base point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
