A vehicle entry apparatus 2 for a vehicle 1 having a door opening and a sill (15 fig 1) has a platform 4 mounted on rotatable mounting means 46 adjacent the door opening, the platform 4 having a surface 42a, 42b for supporting a wheelchair (3 fig 1) thereon and being rotatable between a stowed position (fig. 4), in which at least part of the surface is positioned below at least part of the sill (15 fig 1), and a loading position, in which the platform extends through the door opening (fig 1). The axis of rotation 47d of the platform 4 may be parallel and adjacent to the door hinge. A ramp 5a, 5b may slide telescopically relative to the platform. The platform 4 may be mounted within a recess 11a in the floor of the vehicle and may be connected to and may rotate with an adjacent door 12.
